Patiala, Punjab: In what can be called a gruesome incident, a police official's was cut off by some miscreants during mandatory lock down in the state.
A group of people attacked the police personnel and injured two other at a vegetable market in Punjab's Patiala district this morning when they were trying to ensure the lockdown was in place.
The officer whose hand was chopped off has been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Harjeet Singh -- has been taken to the hospital, where the doctors are operating on him.
Meanwhile the police has launched manhunt to man the attackers
